Meet Susan & Hassan

ELAR was founded by Susan and Hassan, two people shaped by rich cultural roots and modern global upbringing.

Susan

Born in Sweden, raised in the UK, Arab by heritage — Susan has always lived in the in-between. She grew up searching for jewellery that felt like her: modern yet meaningful, elegant yet rooted in home. When she couldn’t find it, she decided to create it.

Hassan

Born in Sierra Leone to a Lebanese family and raised in the UK, Hassan carries a blend of cultures that shaped his eye for design and identity. His experiences brought depth to ELAR’s vision — bridging heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary aesthetics.

Together

They built ELAR as a reflection of their shared identity:
Arab at heart, Western in experience, global in soul.
